URI CAINE TRIO with Mark Helias & Ben Perowsky

 

Ein Klaviertrio ist für viele wohl die konventionellste Jazz-Formation, allerdings nicht, wenn Uri Caine sich dieses vor- und zusammenstellt:

 

Dann reitet man auf funkigem Groove oder bestaunt die Farben, die dabei entstehen, wenn die Band Bach oder Mahler durch ein postmodernes Prisma bricht. So beschreibt „Time Out New York“ die Musik von Uri Caine (piano), Mark Helias (bass) und Ben Perowski (drums). Dabei hat man keine Sekunde das Gefühl, die Drei würden sich in verkopften Stilübungen verlieren, sie wechseln nahtlos zwischen den Stilen und nehmen das Publikum mit auf eine unvorhersehbare Reise, die laut „London Jazz Review“ besonders eindrucksvoll beweist, „dass das Live-Erlebnis etwas Anderes, Einzigartiges, nicht zu Wiederholendes ist.“
